Doha Zoo

I have never been a great fan of zoos, and Doha Zoo certainly does not change that, although they are in the process of expanding and modernising it. I realise they do a lot towards preserving biodiversity with breeding programs, but I just don't like seeing animals (or birds) confined. A lot of the animals in Doha Zoo are behind mesh, so it's difficult to photograph them. With the tiger I dealt with this problem by converting to mono. With the vulture, and to a lesser extent the monkey, I used the mesh to show it's confinement.

A good set considering the limitations. I too am not a fan of zoo's, particularly those in the Middle East as they are not known as animal lovers outside of horses and Falcons.

The tiger takes poll spot. A great capture and presentation.

Best regards

I dunno. while I was in the Middle East I met an Ex-Pat Vet who used to get called to provide evidence on bestiality cases and he said that even pigeons were fair game for some of them.

Love the Giraffe and Vulture pic

I know what you mean about zoos. I enjoy going to see the animals but I still don't like seeing them caged in the way they are in some places...

Your tiger shot is a cracker - super sharp from the looks of it and I reckon it looks good as a mono shot. All the pics are good but the last three are excellent to my mind. The philosophical look on the monkey's face is brilliant!
