Thank you all and good luck George
I still have an option at Fokker but it's a bit different then what I'm studying.
I'm trained to be an aircraft maintenance engineer Part 66 B1 for those who know the codes so that's something else then manufacturing, although a place at Royals Royce doesn't sound too bad

You could do a lot worse than check out Bombardier, Stefan. They're a massive company with a wide spread of interests. I much prefer their Canadair Regional Jets, which are sometimes used on the Aberdeen-Paris or Aberdeen-Amsterdam runs, over the little Fokkers that we see more regularly.

Hi Stefan - Liverpool humour !!
GCSE and NVQ are both school exams/trade qualifications in this country ( General Certificate of Secondary Education & National Vocational Qualification )
I thought maybe the RSI was a good qualification to study for !!!

George,

Bon jour, Yves,George,

Well, to answer your question, I endeavour to stay above the wet bit.
Actually, it's a lovely way of life. Three things stand out.
One, is the fact that Nature is on your doorstep. Or at the gunwhale.
Two, is the fact that other bargees, having left the rat-race behind, are just nice to be around. They have time to be helpful, and to chat. Indeed, to stand and stare.
Three, is the fact that the world is your lobster, as one A Daley used to say. When you tire of a place, you move on. The scene is always changing.
I have a few photographs. But I don't have a fast internet connection.

And best of all, you don't pay council tax!
George - I can recommend 3's mobile internet contract. I rarely had reception issues while living aboard (much better than T-mobile who I had tried previously), and the price was very reasonable - £7.50 a month for up to 2GB I think was the deal I had. I am still with 3 mobile internet, although I have increased the allowance to 5GB for £15, as I download a lot and have a Youtube habit.

I'm glad to read that you enjoy your new lifestyle. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be to my taste. I wish I could afford to fly all over the world, but I don't think that will happen either, unless I'm lucky enough to win the lottery. If that ever happens, let me know where you're "beached", and I'll drop by, just to see your new "house with wet basement".
Enjoy your life.
Enjoy your life.

Stefan has now surpassed George's posts by some 125 to capture the number 2 slot with 6820 posts. To achieve this so soon, he's increased his daily posting rate from 7.9 to 9.4
At this rate Stefan you'll be challenging JR for the top poster spot very soon.
I conclude he doesn't actually have a day job

I was more interested in how many members were actually active out of the thousands that have joined.
There will be quite a few "silent" members who only watch, and also even more who never actually register.

Actually George has been more active lately and me less active this week so I'm surprised I pasted him.
