Do I need to get an adapter

Dee - it should fit okay, but you won't get autofocus capabilities by the looks of it. My guess is that that lens was intended for a manual-focus 35mm SLR.

Yes, it will fit, no adaptor necessary, it just lacks some functions that you would have in a modern lens...
If the aperture ring does not feature an 'A' setting then, using the menu settings in camera, you can enable the use of the ring, sometimes the default setting is that the use of the aperture ring is disabled.
Other than that you have to rely on eyesight for focussing and if you've bought something you'll regret later - then it's only £24 wasted.

I'm not sure that is a K mount?
Forgive me if I'm wrong but the contacts seem a bit large and the aperture lever is in the wrong position and in general it just doesn't look like a K mount to me.

The Praktika "B" and "KA" mounts do look quite similar, and the Sigma 70-210 lens was widely sold for the "B" mount. The only way to fit a "B" mount lens to the K-X would be a "B" mount to M42 adaptor and then an M42 to "KA" mount adaptor in series -> totally manual operation of the camera, and I am not sure you would then get infinity focus.I think you will find it is a Practika B mount
I have a "B" mount Sigma 70-210 in the cupboard, but cannot compare it the one in the ad to see which mount it is because the photo does not show the mount.
OTOH, if the lens is not KA, then the buyer has a legitimate claim for mis-selling, and should be able to get his money (inc. P&P) back via the Paypal scheme.
OTOH2, if the lens IS "KA" mount then that is a very nice lens and probably worth keeping.

If you click on the thumb-nail photo you'll be taken to the full ad, which does have a picture of the mount.

Sorry, missed the link.
Having now got my "B" mount 70-210 out the cupboard, and compared it with a 10-20 "KA-2" mount Sigma:
- My 70-210 looks pretty much identical to the one (front and rear) in the ad.
- The contacts in the "B" mount and the KA-2 mount are located in substantially different positions, especially w.r.t. the distance between the moving aperture lugs as the "KA-2" mount has them quite close together, whereas they almost diametrically opposite on the "B" mount.
- The bayonet mount lugs on the "B" mount look slightly narrower than those on the "KA-2" mount.
Therefore I think that your lens is a Praktika "B" mount - and so don't try it on the K-X as I seem to remember that it almost got stuck on when I tried it with a KA mount tele-converter!
