DIY printed manuals for K7 camera and AF360 flash.

I previously had a K7 camera & AF360 flash gun but the manuals that came with them were too small for my liking, and their backs too vulnerable, so I (laboriously and at expense of more than one of my horribly expensive Canon ink cartridges!) printed off fresh copies from the Pentax web-site onto plain A5 copy paper, using my domestic inkjet printer.
I subsequently moved on to a K5 & AF540 flash and so these manuals are redundant for my purposes, but I am reluctant to put them out to waste right away in case someone else could use them. The pages for the flash weigh something approaching 250g (the manual comprises about 88 pages), and the pages for the camera weigh something approaching 1000g (about 324 pages) so the cost of postage is not inconsiderable (and accounts for much of the price). The weights are approximate as the pages are currently in plastic “poly-pockets” and ring binders (2 needed for the camera manual) from WHSmiths but will be sent without said pockets & binders (as I shall be needing them for use with the A5/AF450 manuals that I intend to print off for myself one of these days).
The printing is of what I consider good quality (not gray-scale- the small coloured elements are in colour) and the manuals are complete as far as I am aware.
If anyone wants them they can have them on that basis, loose leaf as explained above, for £10 including postage.
You WILL need to buy your own polypockets & ring binders, which will add quite a few quid, though I can't remember how much.
I'll wait a couple of days, and if nobody wants them by then, I'll get on and quietly dump them without further ado

This is actually a pretty good idea, especially if you're the sort of person that prefers hard copy. I avoid manuals like the plague but I'm sure this'll be useful to someone

Strange. My K7 Operators Manual is already in A5. Granted the flash (mine is the 540) is A6. Have you made a typo and you mean A4?.

Quite a feat printing off the K-5 manual

You've got me doubting myself about the page size of the official K7 manuals now,Vic. It is so long since I parted with the K7 that I can not be absolutely sure what the page size was. What I am sure about is that the manual for my old D10 came to bits because the binding couldn't cope with my heavy handed reading technique which involves flattening the pages open! So when I moved on to the K7 I was determined to have a durable and accessible manual, rather than the (to me) flimsy one supplied. I do however confirm that "my" manuals are A5- not least because it was remarkably difficult to buy A5 paper, even though it is just A4 cut in half.
Certainly the user manuals supplied with the K5 and 450 flash are far too small and their backs too liable to come apart for my purposes, and it was really with a view to re-utilizing the binders etc for larger versions that I was on the verge of chucking out the older manual prints.
Turning to mdc's comment: I am a bit manual dependent perhaps, but I do enjoy reminding myself periodically of the endless options in the menus etc, and coming back in the evening from a day out with the camera I like relaxing with the manual (and maybe a small tincture!)and going over the technical variations that were available in a given situation!
And to Algi- you are not wrong! It will test my patience and endurance. Setting up my (tiny Canon ip100) printer to produce A5 pages printed on both sides so as to emerge like a proper booklet tests me to the limit! And the printer ink suppliers generally profit handsomely from it too!

The K7 manual is available again as I found the camera too sluggish for my needs and have returned it. It must have been quite a labour of love on Duncan's part as each page is in its own clear sleeve, double sided. Postage is £4.41 according to the label

I have to admit I'm tempted as my K7 came with a French manual - something the seller failed to mention.

It did come with the lighthouse guide though so I'm not sure if I need the original.
