Just to clarify - the closing time should be 18.00 BST rather than GMT :

The Weekly Competition does not finish at 1.00am, just because we are now on BST

Well, I agree Hyram, but the comp-meister specifically said 18:00 GMT in this instance. Whatever he may have meant, it is what he said that counts, surely.
If I were planning to return home from work at 17:30 GMT to submit an entry, I should be unhappy to learn that I was too late.

Milamber, I feel for you.
It's a good exercise though, because you can't just say every picture is wonderful, which some people are prone to do when commenting on pictures in the gallery.

I'm happy to make it 7pm in this instance to avoid any confusion, especially as I didn't set the closing time in the first place
Not that it looks like we will be overrun with entries......can't see hordes of people rushing home at 5.30 (GMT or BST) to enter.

Think yourself lucky the thread Hyam refered to didn't settle on local time otherwise the Aussies would have to get theirs in by 6am UK time on Wednesday and the Hawaians by 6am UK time on Thursday. GMT solves that issue

Of course all this fuss could be avoided by taking a photo any time before 12-00 midday on the appropriate Wednesday ................we seem to be deeply involved in minutiae here - please come over to the "Another Pointless Thread" thread for that !

Our Aussie cousins in Melbourne will have to submit their pics by 4:00 am their time.
The chaps in Perth have to do it by 2:00 am. After they get back from the pub.

The judge has already defined the time, so I don't see what the problem is.
