I do not envy Giving Tree his judging task this week.

With such an 'open' subject, there could be a very large number of entries

I'm loving Dan's graduated sky/tree siluette shot. The person who figures out how to properly do "the velvia effect" with digital will make a million.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

Alien Skin did. Not only Velvia, but also Kodachrome, Astia and Provia.
And yes, they do make millions with those programs.
Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

HELP - someone posted a triptych in the competition. What are the rules about this?

Hang'em! Argh!

Discussed a few competitions back... If I remember, it was left up to the person posting whether they wanted to go for more images or better quality/higher detailed image. And therefore up the the judge on which ranked higher.
The rules are pretty open, so I think everyone was on board.

Of course, they do forfeit their winnings.
We need some standards.

It was discussed under the "Buildings" competition - No. 26 (General Digital Photography Chat).

If in doubt, I suggest a PM to John Riley.

It was just a little north of Sydney, actually from the cliff at Terrigal, north of Avoca Beach.

Sorry about the juxtaposition to yours - I confess yours reminded me of mine

A Tryptich is considered as one entry and can be judged on its own merits. It doesn't really give any advantage or disadvantage as such, it's just one style of many possible styles.

The best Tryptichs IMHO are not just three separate images, but three connected images. Just putting three different pictures in an outer frame doesn't necessarily help.

Still some entries coming in that are more than 800 pixels wide.

Please re-post, there's still time.
Best regards, John

Giving Tree

Thanks for the positive comments. First competition entry and to come in 3rd, chuffed to bits.

Thanks
Jason
