Howard, I'm sure your feather is permissible, as that was the angle that Dan was coming from. "Light" doesn't specify mass or optics!

I read Dan's post after I'd posted my entry and came to the same conclusion. In retrospect I don't think the text I put in was not really necessary.

...and my entry was more about the 'weight' of the object than the light falling on it. Although I do quite like the light falling on it.

I'm guessing ChrisA must be away, because I was sure someone would say something like "How can you have a photography competition with the theme of 'light'?". Seems even more of a fundamental aspect of photography than 'My Day' was.
The thing that makes this topic excellent in my view is that although the brief is broad, it's broad in a way that lets us relate very easily to it. The double meaning (light as in weight) is clear, and we've all got experience of seeing photos that capture something special about the light in the scene.
I note that whereas every single one of the 'My day' entries, AFAIR, had a title explaining how the photo related to the theme, out of 24 entries so far this week, only one title explains anything about how light relates to what's going on in the picture.
