Algernon had included a suggestion regarding Hoya selling everything in the shop before Ricoh took over.

There is another missing from yesterday which linked a video about a supposedly amazing camera

I can understand that one being removed but not the one you are talking about.

Might it be not to cause a major advertiser/sponsor issues?

I posted a comment about a K3 hopefully being a K5 with the autofocus sorted out

The Leads to Deals section has recently been tidied up and any no longer available offers removed. I think the K-5 one had become rather mixed up with lots of offers that were or were not available.

If we can stick to one offer for one thread it will help in making sure the odd still current one doesn't get zapped along with the defunct ones.

Nothing else has gone as far as I'm awar, unless you can tell me differently, in which case drop me a PM and I'll check it out.

Unless there are offending remarks/personal criticism or unfair comments about a retailer, why not leave it? Even then only that offending post should be removed.

While at it, is the discussion of other makers competing models not allowed? I can't see why the A77 link was removed.

The ground rules are that it's a Pentax User forum and is intended as a resource for Pentax Users. As such, other marques are off topic unless there's some relevance to our Pentax photography.

Convinced or not, that's the brief of the forum.

Leads to Deals is pruned regularly so that all the threads are current offers and we don't have to trawl through a mass of outdated material. Please see the Guidelines at the top of the section.

Of course this means that discussions will disappear too if in that section, so the place for those is elsewhere in their appropriate sections.

To be fair to the mods, they do a pretty good job of making sure that the threads and discussions are always on topic. When I think about PentaxUser.co.uk, I think that the forums are one of the more quality forums that's currently on the web.

Discussions on politics and religion can easily go out of hand! I think I've had two posts removed so far, which I think was fair enough.

Or maybe it's just because I have experienced managing different kinds of forums over the years, so I can relate in a way.
