Funny, that observation about than name being derogatory was my reaction too. Ah well, good luck to him.

I don't belong to the other Pentax forum (I have enough trouble keeping up with this one) so didn't get the email but my Lady Love and I own six Canon and two Nikon cameras between us (3 x Canon film SLRs, 1 x Canon DSLR, 2 x Canon Compacts, 1 x Nikon dSLR and 1 x Nikon SLR). My Canon SLRs (2x film, 1x digital) are used on site as sacrificial lambs so that my Pentax kit doesn't get ruined by excessive dust and muck. I also use two very tatty Program As for the same purpose. As to my Lady Love's taste in cameras, I have been trying to educate her!

The term Canikon does seem a bit derogatory to me and lumping the two together seems a recipe for flame wars which I hate. I shall stick to PUG and avoid all posts regarding Apple...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I get the feeling that pentaxians can be toooooo! sensitive. I received this email along with half a dozen others that offered me products I did not want. I ignored them all assuming that they were intended to those whose interests it served
As for the term canikon. Why don't we just leave this for their users to get angry about. It is nothing to us pentaxians.

Womble! get out there and for your penance take only a Pentax, take some real shots. Relive life and don`t be tempted with other makes. you know it makes sense.

Went to second weekend (early) of WSR's steam gala. Surrounded by Canons and Nikons and Sonys but got talking to a nice man with a K10. He unwisely let me have a play with it...

Now I want one. A lot.

But I've wanted a Velocette Venom and a Jaguar XK120 for years and never got one so... as Mum used to say: "Want must be your master!"

Rehards,

Andrew

(Sorry, this is not really relevant, is it?)
Best wishes,

Andrew
