DENOISE

Has anyone tried the DENOISE software currently on offer? It looks as though it should be pretty good and versatile. I, however, have don't seem to be able to get any results that are better than LR 5 can achieve. I certainly can't seem to get the improvement their own images show. Maybe I am doing something wrong!

I am undecided about it. I do not have LR so I can not compare. The interface seems quite complex with different ways of working and I suspect one has to be familiar with the detailed functions to get the best out of it. It seems to be at least as good as the other denoising programs I have tried, but I am as yet sure whether it would be worth getting it.

Thanks Miles - yes the interface does look quite complicated, but also looks like if you know what you are doing then you should be able to apply different settings for different situations. I am undecided as well - having wasted money on other programmes over the years that don't live up to expectations...

I got denoise few years back and got so used to using it that I never really bothered denoising anything in LR, so I can't compare; however, I find the interface really user friendly. It's not complicated at all. The base presets are not necessarily perfect, but they are a good starting point for your own adjustments which cuts the time needed to modify a pic. One thing I do like is the add grain option. Not sure if you can do that in LR easily. All in all - I enjoy using it but to be frank, if you are happy denoising in LR, I'm not so sure this is some sort of a miracle replacement

Hmm...can't spot the LAtest Posts regarding the offer. I just assumed it's Topaz Labs as that's what their plugin is called. If someone else is using the same name I'm not aware, sorry. To be honest, I would not buy it just in spite in that case haha. Hate it when people try to use other's good rep to make money with less effort....
