John, what ever happened to your decaying camera left outside to rot? You were going to keep us all up to date with its SLOW ROT progress. Do you remember? or are you getting like me. (FORGETFUL)?
CHEERS Vic.

I was worried for a moment when I saw the title Vic, and thought you meant I was decaying. Maybe I am, but the Pentax is decaying very, very slowly.

Every month I put the latest picture on Facebook and every now and then I put one on here. Not too often as Pentax Users can find my project a little disturbing....

But you've asked, so here is the latest, dated 26th December 2014.

Clearly there is yet a long way to go!

what would have been good was to have the other 3 brands of the same year there and se how they lasted at the same time

Eventually it would be nice if the camera could be cut in half so we could see what's going on inside. I'm not at all sure if that could be done cleanly enough though.

Thanks John. I don't do facebook so I haven't seen any of your pics. Nice to see the project is still alive though.
As to cutting it cleanly. Do you know anyone in the engineering business who has a "Water Cutter" they use a VERY HIGH pressure VERY FINE water jet which can cut through steel clean as a whistle.

A local machine shop could use a slit saw but not through the prism. An interesting study. This could take many years?

Best regards

Yes, I didn't realise how resilient the camera would be. We're already at the end of the fourth year.

I remember you first posting that 'experiment' John. Time flies eh? We are definitely going to wear out faster than that camera
