Day and Night

I think you have pretty much nailed it Carl. The curves, particularly in the night shot, lead you all over the image to take in the detail and changing hues.
I love the straight lines of reflected light in the foreground of the night shot as well but, being picky, I might be tempted to tone down the orange line across the corner

Really excellent shots Carl, very easy one the eye. There are a couple of things you could do next time on the night shot:
- use a smaller aperture to get starbursts; this has the downside of requiring a tripod and longer shutter speed so you would lose the crispness in the water
- Make sure the reflected curve of the bridge is included in the bottom of the frame
Cheers

Thanks David. This was taken on a tripod - 1 second exposure at f/4. I couldn't get the whole reflection from that vantage point and was trying to mirror my daytime shot.- use a smaller aperture to get starbursts; this has the downside of requiring a tripod and longer shutter speed so you would lose the crispness in the water

I will share others that I do have the whole of the reflection. Point taken on aperture - in my excitement I forgot about that. In a way, I am not disappointed at this - it gives me an excuse to go and do it again - really enjoyed the experience
Carl
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Totally agree. Must get down there again, maybe mid week when it's "quiet"

Myself, Barrie and Stan stayed in to the evening so I decided to return to the same spot after dark. I didn't manage to 100% match the same shot but it is close.
This was pretty much my first attempt at an urban waterfront after dark so very much a learning curve for me and something I definitely want to try again
As always C+C welcome
Carl
