Daughter's First DSLR shots

Although now 23 and an avid P&S / mobile phone shooter, this is the first time she's been shooting with a DSLR. I gave her my spare K5 and put the 55-300 lens on it for her (I had a K5 with DA*300) and we went looking for people, macro@300 and birds in the local park.

Her first efforts (the old lady is literally the first shot she took) :

Thanks Alan - she really enjoyed herself and that's what matters no matter how the shots turned out. She can't wait to go again so one afternoon this week we'll hire a boat and try to get closer to that egret colony !

In #7 (wide open at 300mm) the background is the light filtering through the trees and in #8 it is the bushes/grass that forms the background. The beautiful vibrant colours of the flower really seem to make the background stand out and at 300mm it gives it almost the look of a painting. I was very pleased with her efforts as you can tell !
