Hi Darlene, welocme to the forum. Lucky you getting a camera for your birthday. Happy birthday!
St John's, Newfoundland, is one of my husbands all time favourite places. I hope I'll get there one of these years! I look forward to seeing some photos of your lovely province.

Darlene,
You'll get some great picture of SNOW. Last time I was in St Johns it was about 2 M deep and the following day it slipped off the office roof and buried the cars - I still have pictures of people trying to find them!
I used to stay in the Fairmont with great views over the harbour.

Hello Everyone....Thanks for the welcome. My Camera is the K-m. I have the 18m to 50m lens that is a pentax and I have been given a Quantaray 70 to 210...This one is a manual..and I am having a bit of a hard time not shaking it...I will learn.
I will take some pictures of snow...in season...and we Newfies do not kiss cod as a habit...rather if you are not a TRUE Newfie and wish to become one, then you must kiss a Cod, drink Screech...and be screech in...However if you do not drink....you gits to kiss de cod and get screeched in!!!

Here is a place..(wilderness!!) not far from home.
