DA*300 Is quite handy!

Good close focus, good sharpness, reasonable bokeh, what's not to like:

All hand held and wide open, with the new K5IIs at a local bit of wild meadow, very early this morning

except some rare and inexplicable AF hesitations this lens has stunning optical qualities.. it's quasi my walk around lens, .. IMHO it's hard to beat it in his category as for bf and bird photographing ..

Many thanks! Not easy having to try to handhold that tiny centre autofocus spot in the K5 over the wavering flower stamen, I'll have to get used to that
That said, trying to practice good technique rather than selecting multiple (9) points and AFC as I would of done on the Nikon I had, rendered keepers quicker than the point and squirt philosophy I think, maybe thats deliberate on Pentax's part?
Lens is very sharp and half a kilo lighter than the Canikon equivilant, which helps with the balance too methinks...

Cheers Stuey, it feels realy good to be back with Pentax, after all the gear I've had I've only really liked two Digitai SLR's those being the Sony A900 and the K5.
The Sony is a boat anchor, and to be truthful feels like a dinosaur but that viewfinder, oh that viewfinder, the K5 just feels right...
