DA 16-45mm f 4

i have one of these ,it was the first lens i bought and i still like it but it has developed some movement in the body. if i hold the lens and then take hold of the font i can move it up/down and side to side. so i am thinking that possibly time to find a replacement and was wondering on the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 as it is abit faster and it will not break the bank.
any thoughts on the problem or the replacement all replies appreciated

Mine had the same issue. To be honest it always wobbled, but in the end i'd get softness on one side depending on the orientation. A shame as it was otherwise a superb lens. I got the tamron 17-50 and i'm happy with it. The barrel seems a lot tighter, and extends less. Miss that 16mm end though!

Mines done that since it was new!...and it's still a stunning lens!

I think all zooms with extending front sections will move, even when new. It's in the nature of the construction.

must be me then just did not notice it until earlier this year and assumed it was on the way out.save the money towards a 70 ltd then. thanks for the replies one and all

There's a little movement on the inner lens tube of my DA 70mm Ltd, it's inherent in the design of this type of lens whether it be zoom or prime. My DA 17-70 has some movement as well, probably more than the 70 Ltd but I just accept it in a modern AF lens.
