X70 - today - very uninspiring lighting unfortunately but very cute cygnet

Cygnets are like children - rocket around at great speed and therefore very difficult to capture

Good moment, good movement (look) and very good heading to the photo.

Agreed.

Out of interest, have you got it in colour?

In the original colour version, the hull of the boat is white, the swan is white, the cygnet is pale grey and the water is a most unattractive shade of green , so I thought that black and white would probably be better.

I can post a colour version if you wish

I was just curious. I'm not generally as big a black and white fan as some around here, but given your explanation...

PS nice bear.

I would be tempted to crop the boat out, I dont think it adds anything to the image, in fact its more of a distraction, I think the decision to convert to mono was the way to go, lovely tones on the cygnet, just a bit of detail lost in the lower half of the swans neck but given the subject I think the exposure is excelent. Good title too
