Not sure of the lamp in No 1, a different angle or clone it out?

No 2 very very nice shot.

I'm not sure why you would prefer it not to be there. It is there in real life.

The image is 'dusk' and the lights are on on the pier, so it is not out of place. Perhaps a wee toning down could be done, but I would prefer not to remove it.

Glad you like the other one. I am still working on it to enhance the sky with a graduated filter effect. I will post the result when it is finished, if an image ever is finished.

Thank you for your comment. Regarding the sky, perhaps you have heard of the 'rule of thirds'? Well the sea/sky horizon is just on the third point, so the sky should be just about OK.

On my second image, I have broken this rule because the sea and the sky are both interesting, so neither is dominant. Anyway rules are made to be broken!

I think that the misty image is also interesting, but for different reasons. It has a degree of mistique.

So that the rule 1/3... well ok... but as you say sometimes they are to be broken

Simply beautiful, David!

The first shot is a very nice composition with the path coming from the right bottom corner and the rule of thiirds applied.

The second shot is just wonderful lighting.

My dad spent a lot of time on this pier when he was about 8 (now 82) his father used to play cello on the bandstand and leave son to amuse himself.Son and cello would be bundled into a side-car for the trip.
C&C welcome.
Don.
