Counterfeit Pentax & Canon Lenses

I think what you have there is a Pentax DA-L 50-200 kit lens, which has been removed from the box which held the camera, I have seen a number of these DA-L lenses being sold seperately with just plain cardboard as packaging,

DA-L lenses are not sold with lens hoods, they also have black plastic mounts as opposed to the metal mounts and the quick shift feature has been ommitted.

Your lens is genuine, it's just a cheaper low cost version, you would have been better off purchasing a used retail version off E-bay for less than £100.

The Jappan thing on the warranty card would have me wondering though.

One comment on that 50mm f1.4 from Canada - expect to be stung by Customs & Excise or whatever Her Majesty's Highwaymen are calling themselves this week.

It isn't the duty/VAT that stings so much as the outrageous "admin fee" imposed by Parcelfarce to collect it.

You can probably add on around 25/30% for all the charges.
