Reasonable lens I think, just a bit plasticky. I took this with it - not the best shot I ever took, it was dark and I was wallowing on the floor trying to get a sharp shot with slow shutter speeds / wide apertures:

The shot is cropped quite a bit, maybe 50%.

It's not a full 1:1 macro, only 1:2, so you need a close up filter. For about £50 you can't go wrong, but I wouldn't pay a lot more than that.

I'm sure they came with the close-up filter?

Algi is correct.

The lens is 1:2 macro and should come with a filter to make it 1:1 magnification. It was made under numerous brand names including Cosina, Phoenix, Vivitar and a few others. They did both manual and autofocus versions.

Not a bad little lens actually, build quality is a bit iffy but it does the job. Should be around the £70 mark if it has the filter included.

Mine's not bad but is lacking the filter.

Just reading about this lens last week. Supposedly the easiest & cheapest way to get to a 1:1 macro. All macro lenses are sharp so that shouldn't be an issue but the build quality, as mentioned, is iffy. Good value for money.
