Hi all,

one of my photos is going to be the Corporate Christmas Card for Bracknell Forest Borough Council, after I entered this into the competition... (It's where I work, so fame at last)..

I've tried to remember and guess-timate the crop that they decided on, from the standard aspect ratio I submitted.. it is something like this, I was holding it for the publicity piccys.. very strange being the wrong side of the camera..

The only remit was that it had to be festive/wintry, and be taken inside the Borough boundaries. It snowed, I walked to work.. hey presto. They liked the "Narnia" look to it. I hadn't seen that.

I'm dead chuffed.. £25 M&S vouchers as the prize.. and knowing that they'll be printing and sending 100s of the things out (photo accreditation inside).. Houses of Parliament included..

If they design it as they did last year's, it will probably look something like this..

That's me happy for a while.

Cheers

Cheers..

I suppose the theme has to be relatively neutral, as it's one design to suit 100s of recipients around the country.

She might.. I suppose Councils send to her Maj..

Wish we got any type of snow
Last Christmas day my wife and myself were outside in summer clothes lying on a sunbed with cold drinks listening to white christmas on the cd player.

Funny the things you miss ....

Anyway, congrats on the picture ..

A very good picture indeed and you must be pleased.

However I have to make a plea to the Moderators about the shockingly non PC attitude of Bracknell Forest Borough Council and the sadly misguided contributors to this thread.

We, in Glasgow, as of last night at the 'turning on the lights ceremony' discovered that we no longer celebrate Christmas, we celebrate 'GlasgowWinterFest'.

In the interests of PCGM can we please refrain from the use of such offensive language as the 'C'word?

Instead of 'Merry Christmas and a happy new year', we have....

wait for it...

'Aylesbury Vale, A Great Place to Grow' and the only thing that accompanies it is a rather dodgy looking neon leaf.

Message to me seems to be 'sod christmas, grow drugs', but hey, what do i know?!

Well I received my first Christmas card today

Liam, congratulations on winning the competition!

Mike-P be careful what you wish for. Remember you will soon be returning to the UK, and then you'll be longing to be out on a sunbed enjoying the Spanish sun after yet another grey drizzly dismal day such as we're having now.

I hate snow. It is fine in theory but in practice it is horrible.

Thanks for all your kind comments.. really appreciated.

I was asked this evening to review the little article that has been written in the staff magazine, to announce my win. So in the email back, I sent a couple of links to some galleries.. I let it slip that I'll be selling my wares, when receiving my prize, so may as well boost the audience at every chance..

Cheers
