Early morning dash down to Conway castle to catch the sunrise, it was rather cold & wintery & unfortunately the lighting wasn't quite what I was hoping for - not 100% sure about this one, all opinions appreciated

I liked some of the earlier landscapes you posted enormously. They were fabulous in their detail, their symmetry (there were quite a few with beautiful reflections on still days), their lighting, and left me absolutely entranced, wanting to be there.

I hope very much that you won't be offended if I confess to being forced, in the interests of absolute honesty, to say that your recently posted photographs haven't been quite at the same level. I do like this, but not in the same way.

No problem at all Chris - not happy with this myself...

I've been trying to capture a unique looking shot of Conway Castle for a while but unfortunately I've still not managed it. This is another experiment - mainly regarding composition...

From this angle I like the mountain backdrop but the road-bridge is too evident & detracts from the castle, it looks more of a "snap" type shot too as there really isn't any foreground to be had from this vantage point - back to the drawing board

Thanks

The light is great, but the picture looks a little fuzzy.

I would try a really tight crop.

Conwy Castle is not the easiest of subjects. You probably have the only viable position here for an overall shot and maybe a tighter crop will be the answer.

Along with waiting for the light of course.
Best regards, John
