Considering selling full setup

Posted 23/08/2011 - 12:00 Link
Hey guys, new to the site. I just thought I'd do a quick post to see if anyone was interested in my Pentax setup. I really need money for traveling so I'm considering selling my setup. So, here it is........

Pentax K7 body
Pentax 10-17mm F3.5 Fisheye
Pentax 50mm F1.4
Pentax 16-45mm
Sigma 70-300mm F4

SPL WATERHOUSING and FISHEYE PORT.
(This waterhousing has been looked after since the day I bought it. It's my pride and joy and has helped me to produce some images that I'm extremely proud of) (The housing also fits the new Pentax K5)

All equipment comes with boxes and original instruction manuals.

I also have a gopro HD videocamera with underwater housing and mount to fit the SPL Housing.

This is an amazing combination for anyone wanting to shoot stills and high quality video at the same time!

If interested, please contact me at - e-mail address removed by Moderator Team

I'm willing to sell items seperately but would prefer to sell as a package.

Thanks for reading,

Tom Young.

Like to know what you are asking for the SPL ?

Actually I think you'll generate a lot more interest if you give asking prices and put it in the appropriate forum !

Hi, asking for £700 for the SPL alone as I have only owned this for a year and it cost me over £1000 plus shipping from America. It is fitted with the new style pistol grip with a 2-stage trigger enabling you to focus and shoot. I will also throw in a GOPRO mount which cost me £100 from SPL.

I also forgot to mention that the port also fits the 50mm lens.

If you know about SPL, then you will know that they have been built to last. I have only owned this housing around a year and it has been a dream. Here are some photos - teewhyphotos.tumblr.com

This housing is easily the best thing that I have owned.

Your main problem will be that you are a new member with no track record of buying or selling.

You have some fairly high value equipment there and most people (myself included) would not send that sort of money to an unknown seller.

Noted, but I have found it difficult to gain interest for my waterhousing elsewhere as most surf photographers tend to use Canon or Nikon. I knew that advertising in a forum such as this would generally be a better idea. As I have already stated, I am only considering selling at the moment as I want to see if my setup will gain any interest.

I appreciate the advice. I guess I could list it on Ebay (where I have a good track record) for someone who wanted to buy.

I forgot to mention that a Metz 48 AF-1 Pentax fit flash is also included in the package.

Fair enough.

If you do decide to sell then you will make more (and sell it faster) if you split it up into induvidual items and give an asking price for each.

I've removed the e-mail address from the original post to avoid you being inundated with spam. Interested parties can PM you and you will be able to reply to their PM, which is a safer way to start negotiations.
