To use a 62 mm filter on my 49 mm lens, do I need a step up or step down adaptor.

Confused from descriptions
K5iis and a couple of lenses.

I would recommend a step-up one.

Depends if you are at the foot of the ladder or the top

They seem to call them both ways so it's up to
you to make sure

I'd just look for 62 mm filter on 49 mm lens in the
description. You might have to do it with two.... 62 to 58
and 58 to 49
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

I thought the same until I found the Amazon one.

Step up means you want to use something with a larger diameter than the existing lens and step down means you want to use something with a smaller diameter.

Fairly logical

All Ebay and Amazon sellers have University Degrees in how to correctly describe filter rings........ I don't think!
