K50 is a cracker...I'm just sorry to have had to let mine go
..still I might hang on to he K500 which is almost as good...

But - your K50 has gone to a good home David - to a young photographer who already loves it and will explore all of the menu and function options (as he did with his previous DSLRs) and make full use of it to continue to create great photographs

Gotta K-3iii now, had a K-S2, K50 and so suffering from a relapse and so buying digital camera kit.
Previous addiction has resulted in using Zeniths, Yashicamat, Chinons, Minoltas, Samsungs, Fujis, Cosina, Kodak, Lumix, Canon, Nikon and Pentax etc etc - have tried most makes in the past 50 years. Love cameras - love taking photos even more

Is there much difference between the K50 and the K30? I have a K30 which I bought as a second body to my K5. When I got the K3 I thought the K30 would be retired. No chance, its a lovely little camera, terrific as a lightweight walk around 'street' camera.
Most importantly it delivers high quality images and is good as the K3 and K5 at image quality, and also at high ISO resolution, if not better.
If the K50, which I believe is an updated K30, is that good or even better then its a winner.

Updates are minimal between 30 and 50, body shape and perhaps EyeFi card compatibility? Your K30 is still a great camera and a neat design!

Thanks for that info. Just checked, the K30 goes to 12,800 in normal mode but 25,600 in expanded ISO mode, unlike the K3 and K5 which go to 51,200 in expanded mode.
I've had the K5 up to 51,200, just as an experiment and the image was usable but certainly not of exhibition standard.
I've shot with the K30 at 12,800 ISO and had a quite acceptable result.

If I were to get another camera body I would get another K30 while stocks are still available failing that a K50, for the money they are asking it is a no brainer.
