The diopter slider on the K-5 is a pain to use, K-r one much easier

The K-5/Pentax is not the only camera/system that suffers in these conditions.
It's a bit different from the point under discussion here, where the camera acquires an AF lock very easily, it's just not focused where it thinks it is.
