Can I put in a request that Dr. Mhuni sets all the competitions until the end of the summer (northern hemisphere) with subject matters such as - storms, tempest, gales, heavy rain, snow, hurricanes etc. so that the current and most agreeable warm, dry and sunny weather continues until at least October

John Riley, I can't help but think your 'rain' entry has the rain photoshoped in. something about doesn't sit right.

Am I wrong?

It is certainly very regular and all at 45 degrees from the left - a rain machine (as used on film sets) sprung to mind

Given it was already raining (Umbrella, wellies, raincoat, etc) I think its fair that he edited the photo to give it that effect don't you?

Just because someone has a raincoat on, doesn't necessarily mean it's raining. The shot looks set up to me, I may be wrong, that's why I'm asking.

I can see no drips of rain on leaves, umbrella, coat. they may be there and the resolution and size of the pic means they are not observable.

The lines of rain is too regular and has no 'depth', it all looks to be in one plane in front of the child.

Artificial rain? Whatever next. I'll tell you after the judging.

Artificial rain in UK? It's like making artificial sand in the Sahara.

The answer is that it was raining, but at the resolution and size on a monitor it isn't very obvious. So it has indeed been enhanced via the Styles pallette in Photoshop 7.
