Collect+ - how to complain

Your help/experience would be much appreciated with the following:

Couple of weeks ago, a forum member bought, and paid for, some kit from me - which I then sent off via Collect+, and which I then dropped at a local collection point a day later.

I have tracking evidence which proves that the shipment was "logged in" by the collection point in question - but neither the member nor I can see find any trace of what happened to the package after that !

Having now, finally, refunded the purchase price to the member in question - and thus lost both the "kit" and the Collect+ courier costs - I now need to get the "money" back from Collect+, given that I paid for adequate insurance from their website.

However, having looked at their website, I can't see how make an appropriate claim - And so, does anyone have any idea how I need to proceed????

I had the same problem last year, I gave up on the website and phoned them, got put on hold many times, listened to lots of excuses but did get my money back, eventually,

Just a point of note, I think, but may of misheard, that after 28 days you can’t make a claim.

Anyway if you don’t have the number to hand it’s.

tel:0845 697 0285

Good Luck.

Very many thanks for the above - and especially for the phone number, which I will definitely use PDQ!

Why on earth use dodgy couriers when there is Royal Mail Special Delivery? A camera costs £8 next day signed for with automatic £500 insurance included. It's a no brainer! If you need up to £1000 insurance it only costs a few quid more.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

For some stuff, RMSD is OK, but for others it is an "economic" non-starter. For example, because of the length (about 77cm) it would have cost £13 to send the monopod to LennyBloke, whereas MyHermes cost about £6 - on an item that I could only sell for £27 inc P&P!

Like many other things in life it's "horses for courses" - and with all of those come risks.

Anyway, "I am where I am" at the moment, but hopefully I will eventually get the refund because I paid for Collect+ insurance on this package.

Update!!!

I was just about to start the claims procedure from the page that JAK highlighted (
https://www.collectplus.co.uk/help-advice/what-should-i-do-if-my-parcel-is-lost-or-damaged/[/quote]
, when, after logging into my Collect+ account, I saw that they seem to have finally "found" the missing package at the end of last week (seems to have been "lost" at the drop-off collection point for 10 days - won't be using that place again!!!!) and that it is now on it's way to the buyer (Pentax_2012)!

So, maybe, I won't have to make a claim after all - but "time will tell"

That sounds like RM ParcelForce prices, which always seem to be way overpriced for some inexplicable reason.

RM Special delivery next day before 1.00 PM for up to 1Kg weight/medium size and £500 insurance is £8.60

I accept that oversize items present their own problems (it is 60cm max length and 20Kg max weight) but normally, the included £500 insurance is a superb deal.
You wouldn't think that ParcelForce was the same outfit - their interest is bulk shifting, not the everyday Joe Soap who they try to scare off with daft pricing. Also, if RMSD fail to meet the deadline you get your money back. I send dozens of packages with them. I have had one claim for loss (dealt with promptly - and the damn thing reappeared about 6mths later!) and never a one delivered late. Bigger things, I use United Parcels - UPS who are reasonably priced and have never let me down.

Looks like the Collect+ parcel should finally have been delivered to Pentax_2012 this morning (just waiting for confirmation from him) and the MyHermes parcel should also have reached LennyBloke (again, awaiting confirmation).

Probably will now chase Collect+ for some sort of "explanation" /apology - and I think I'll visit that Collect+ drop-off shop and give them a "piece of my mind" because that is where I am pretty sure the blame really lays.
