Classified Ads in the emails by PF ?

Hi guys,

I've been wondering this for a while:
What are these classified ads we receive in the PF newsletter?
They seem to be seperate from the classified adverts forum section, and posted by people who have little or no forum contribution at all.
The fact they're outside the forum means there's no public discussion about the items for sale.

Is there a catch somewhere?

There are two types of Classified Ads on Pentax User.

The free ones are in the forum.

The paid for ones are in the top menu under Shop>Classified Ads

No catch, the top menu ones were the originals and the free forum service was added later.

I've never quite understood the Shop>Classified Ads versions. I've enquired about 2 of these ads but didn't get a reply to either. One of them was posted in the last few days by someone who doesn't appear to have logged in since last year - but I do get easily confused
