The wings remind me of model planes when you put the dope on the tissue.

I think these are all very good. I especially like the wonderful shade of green, and it pops against the wood in #2.

I especially like the third one, it is an unusual angle which makes it stand out.

What are the orange shiny things between its eyes?

BTW what is it about bugs and this forum? There seems to be quite a theme developing!

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Lovely shots, well done. We have cicada's in Spain too but I've never seen a green one. All those that I've seen here are brown, but just as noisy and equally ugly. Ours have mostly perished now as summer is just about gone.

I don't know. I had hoped that all these red-blooded Aussies would be down at Bondi snapping lissome sheilas for our delectation.

But no. They sit at home drinking beer and photographing insects.

Bizarre.

PS: I do admit that it's a bit of a drive from NQ to Bondi, but all you have to do is hitch a ride on a road-train. No worries.
