Hmm got my christmas bonus in so my LBA is getting fired up again

I am wondering, I really love wideangle landscapes so I would really like something below the 16-45.
So what would be the better choice, the Sigma 10-20 or the Pentax 12-24?

Or should I go a different way and opt for a K10 as an upgrade from my *ist DS which is now 2 years old.

I would go with the K10, The price is very good at the moment. I like to wait for the reviews and opinions on the K20 to come out first before i switched

The answer is simple:

If your a "photographer" then you go for the lens.

If your a "gear freak" then go for the K10D.

However......if your a "photographer" AND "gear freak" then you have a serious problem just find a dealer who will cut you a good deal on a K10D with a Wide angle lens and spend next years bonus before you get it

Definitely the lens - yes the K10D is better than the *istDS (I have both) but I'd much rather have the superwide than another camera body.

Both the Pentax or Sigma ultra-wide zooms would be great options, however given the Sigma is wider, at least as good optically but significantly cheaper that makes it an easy choice IMHO.

I always say "If you're standing in the middle of the road, go left you may get hit....go right you may get hit....stand where you are and you definately get hit....." in other words the worst descision is to make no descision.
Therefore decide to have both, devise a plan of action and move on it.

If I knew that I would not be getting the new Pentax DSLR as yet unannounced, I would get the lens now, and wait for the price of the K10D to keep dropping. Between the lens and the body, only one is going to keep lowering in price.

But be sure to pick up a K10D before it disappears from stores altogether several months from now.

If it's any help I have enjoyed using my Sigma 10-20 and it keeps creeping back onto the body as it's just so useful. But it's big quite the biggest lens I have and doesn't fit into pockets well. Also it would probably rarely leave the body if it was 28 not 20.

If you buy the K10D, your just gona hate yourself when you see the K20D's price drop (Because we all know, eventually sometime next year, it will - just as the K100D and the K10D's did.)
Id go for the lens, and probably the sigma, due to the price.
