Christmas at Brewery Square

Brewery Square is a redevelopment of the old Eldridge Pope brewery site in the centre of Dorchester. It already comprises shops, restaurants, apartments, a cinema and a hotel and, as a work in progress, there is more to come including another hotel, a theatre, town houses and more apartments. It already acts as a people magnet, drawing residents from surrounding towns and villages into Dorchester every evening. This Christmas, as in the last two, a skating rink has been set up over the fountains in the centre of the Square to entertain the younger night-lifers.

The following shots are the results of a "try out" of TAV mode on my K-5ii, numbers 1 to 3 using a DA 35mm 2.4 and the rest a DA 18-55mm AL WR. Most of the available light is coming from a large illuminated bill board on one side of the square and ISOs vary between 1100 and 3200 depending on the light intensity and colour being displayed at the time of the shot. As much noise reduction as I dared has been carried out in PSE and I'm impressed by the usability of A4 size images, even at ISO 3200. As always, comments are welcomed.

It's curious the way we shy away from high ISO. These really show that it is usable.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
