Cholmondeley Power and Speed 2016

A new name for the event, formerly known as the Pageant of Power, and perhaps a little smaller in the running list. Weather is often a problem here, so that didn't help getting people in through the gates, though the reality wasn't as bad as the forecasts in the days running up to the show.

As always, comments or criticism welcome. These are all on my Kx, with either the 18-55 kit lens, the Sigma 50-500 (the jumping shots) or the Sigma 18-200. I tried the kit lens because I was wondering if the 18-200 that I've adopted as the usual walking about lens is not quite as sharp.

1. Bastos Capri recreation, made a lovely noise on full chat.

2. Chris Williams and the Napier-Bentley, running gingerly due to the damp

3. Another replica, this time an IMSA BMW M3

4. A selection of rally cars ran the track, though a proper rally stage might have been better

5. Maclaren MP4-12C gets air

6. A comfortable riding position

7. New Bentley Bentayga could certainly put the power down

8. Not sure how much help the rear wing is, quite difficult to get motion blur

9. Rover SD1 rally car also sounded nice

10. Not sure what to say about this

I ran into Simon Arran at the show too, I haven't been on the forum much so I wasn't aware of his recent defection to the dark side, still, nice to catch up.

Thanks, I've got a couple of shots with a slight "moment" as the track was a little damper than expected, but the trouble is that the track is very tight (you can see the trees very close, so no room for mistakes) so as soon as it's a bit greasy everyone slows down. A lot of the bikes were at walking pace on Friday for that reason.

Always a decent range of stuff at this event - would be nice to see more of course, but there's always a few unusual things present.

Cheers all. There was a new McLaren 675LT there, but I don't recall seeing it on the track, much less clearing the ground on the bridge. I was hoping to get the Bentayga "in flight", but it didn't seem to take off - it wasn't for the want of power, so I wonder if some of the trickery stops it.

The SD1 sounded very nice when he stuck his foot down, though I don't recall seeing it later on Sunday so I hope nothing happened to it.
