Newspaper reproduction can be quite poor and I dont think any picture editor would choose #5, it is too difficult to make out the turbines I'm afraid. I think #1 works though.

I agree, the towers are quite small in diametor but if I get closer I lose the surroundings, which I need. I have tweaked 5 a little around the turbines but I would rather not cheat with PS.

I think you need to get much closer to the main objects, I'm afraid that they are lost. there is too much to look at in the frame.

I am not looking to taking great pictures of power stations or wind turbines, I intend them more as illustrations.
The fact that the turbines are hard to distinguish is one of the points I will be making in the article, also the fact that the power station is so dominating is also part of the message.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for renewable energy sources, but my immediate is thought that you'd need an awful lot of those turbines to produce anything like the power of the power station, so that's something that you'll need to address - not only the visual pollution of hundreds of turbines around the place, but also the noise pollution. The odd couple dotted around make a noticable noise when you're nearby, if everyone had one in their back garden, I would imagine there would be a constant drone.
Unfortunately these are some of the problems facing proponents of renewable sources at the moment.

Probably not the place to debate renewable energy I think, I was actually part of a team that researched the the Wind Energy business prior for a large company a few years back.Don't get me wrong, I'm all for renewable energy sources, but my immediate is thought that you'd need an awful lot of those turbines to produce anything like the power of the power station, so that's something that you'll need to address - not only the visual pollution of hundreds of turbines around the place, but also the noise pollution. My article is merely aimed at promoting a local debate. In the recent past we had one councillor who lived several miles away and voted against the erection of these turbines because she did not want see them when she made a weekly trip to town.

I think 1 and 5 probably work best but I am not really happy with any of them and would welcome any thoughts as to how I could make them stronger
The power station in shots 1-3 dominates the skyline and that is what I am trying to capture. (these were shot from around 20 miles away)
The wind turbine shots 4-5 were shot from around 800 yards
