Pfft, go along to them and ask them why you shouldve bought a Canikon, prove to them that your bodies/lenses are sufficient for what you need, and show some of your better photos.
Then find another place that isn't filled with such stuck up people!

Anyone looking for a camera club in the UK would be best checking out the PAGB website to find out who's who and whats where
http://www.pagb-photography-uk.co.uk/
I dont get any grief over my PENTAX at my camera club, they all know what it can do.
I should also add that any camera club who's members are more interested in kit bashing than photography aren't worth joining as they probaby know more about kit than using it...or at least THINK they know about kit .
Sorry, quick edit..... check out the "member federations" link for clubs in your area

A very, very long time ago I started out with a Zorki 4k, I went along to a local camera club with it and was ignored for weeks on end.
I've no doubt that the majority of camera clubs are very friendly and very helpful, but there's no harm in seeking a recommended one. Just thought I'd ask our Cheshire members.

Hi,
I live near Knutsford (don't hold that against me) and have for a long time considered joining Knutsford Photographic Society but have not done so. I might yet do so when I retire in September. I understand that they are quite good and welcome visitors to their meetings. Their website is
http://www.knutsfordps.org.uk/
It's currently a month or so out of date.
I also believe that there is a club in Altrincham but I have not investigated that. There's probably one in Warrington as well.
Hope that is of use to you. If you come up with some further information I would be intersted in hearing it.
Good luck.
Howard

Hello, A member has called me this morning to find out if there is a group in the Shropshire/Cheshire area. Can anyone recommend one for me?

Tut, tut you should have bought a Canon etc, etc.
I'm interested in improving my photo skills via the help of others; not an equipment beauty contest.
Thanks,
Chris.
