Cheap sturdy monopod - Giottos Memoire 10

Giottos Memoire 10 monopod @ Currys for £12.50
The ad says 3/8 thread but in actual fact it's 1/4 with a 3/8 adapter. So with a 3kg load it's seems to me that for a cheap DSLR monopod you can't go wrong.
I was impressed and hope that it might prove useful to some others on the forum.
