Chasing Sunrise on the River Avon

Being somewhat out of practise, I decided I was going to get up nice an early and capture the sunrise over the river Avon in Pershore on Sunday. Alas I failed. I overslept and it ended up being a case of chasing the sun, which we all know is a futile exercise, so missing the best of the mornings pinks and blues I ultimately resigned myself to mediocracy ... Thankfully that lasted no more than 20 seconds, and I then used the light I had been gifted with to create a small series of silhouettes

Supporting video of the morning can be found here > https://youtu.be/ZTEpUqNk3vc

I hope you enjoy.

Thank you Chris. Was a lovely morning and had the place to myself for the most part. A little disappointed that I didn't get the image I had in my mind as I set off, but such is is the nature of photography, results are found in adaptation and experimentation

Simplicity often rules - a lovely early sun as the dominant colour with the silhouetted grasses at the foreground complementing the soft, out of focus background - excellent

Nice one. Lenny got it in one.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I really like this, great subject matter and a lovely warm feel to it. Can I be critical and say I would of preferred it taken a little higher up so the grasses stayed in the warm orange part of the water and didn't stray into the shadow area to give some separation.
