Characters at Masham.

The Masham steam rally continues today. I went yesterday and was very glad I did. After 17:30, a large number of the exhibiting vehicles make their way to Masham town centre. The place was buzzing. It is one huge social interaction.

As well as shooting the machinery that arrived in the town which I'd already covered at the show, I decided to get some characters.

Aren't the people so often more engaging than the event itself. Well captured Gary

Great photos of real people!

Didn't you get any of the local Blacksheep Ale?

I love those. Full of character.

That takes me back - sleeping on the floor in a living van, under the boiler of a mate's Aveling and even on a tram seat at Crich one year. The entire rally field was packed with characters of which you've caught a great sample. (And you really *can't* beat breakfast off the shovel).
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

All comments appreciated.

I was drinking Theakstons at Masham as was everyone else in the town centre! I did have a pint of Black Sheep at Reeth yesterday.

I was always under the impression that drinking in public is frowned upon? Not in Masham at this event. Just a huge number of friendly people with plenty of foods stalls (NOT fast food) selling traditional Yorkshire fare. It will now be a permanent calender event for me.

Bulk photo's are here link and as usual, a proliferation of motorcycles.

Best regards
