Van Morrison used to hang out at a cafe near my old school, and as school kids we'd plague him with lame renditions of his life's work. Needless to say he was perpetually (and unsurprisingly) in a bad mood - at least during lunch breaks.
Great shot by the way - K10D + PENTAX SMC 50-200mm F4-5.6 DA ED sans flash? What ISO was that at, noise looks very well controlled.

Thanks, the ISO was only 100 - they were playing in the afternoon, so apart from the stage lighting there was quite a lot of ambient lighting in the marque. This next shot was taken later on, and the ISO was 800, but I used neatimage to process it and a bit of photoshop to re-introduce sharpness that the noise reduction removed.

Damn! It's got wood in it! I could have entered it in the competition!

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Van Morrison was his grumpy self and the security staff tried to stop people using long lenses or flash units. Handy that the 50-200 DA looks so small
This is not the man himself, but another performer in a better mood.
Oh and congrats to the competition winners while I was away.
