Good Luck Don! I think you are insane , but it's great you will do this for your kids
I thought it was cold here -in Limburg in the south of the Netherlands it was -20C the other night, here it was -14C, and I found it hard enough walking the dogs in -10C this morning, but that seems tropical compared to Winterpeg!

Stay inside the snowbank (I think the snow hut is called a Quincey?) At least in there it's only 0 degrees C.

like the sheltr? he made it hemself. no frostbite, but oddly enough, one nite was enough...
ice fishing..no luck. some comedic video...nature hike...and he just ran out of steam...we did sleep out friday nite came home sat evening.
now at home, pumpin a bottle of Southern Comfort into my alcohol system....
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Seriously, last time I've seen the real snow was about 3 years ago. Last week we had maybe an inch in here, for a couple of hours. Some desperate children tried riding sledges

Glad you're back safe and sound! Notice I didn't say safe and sane?
Did you stay up all Friday night watching over the lad? Where'd the dog sleep?
Too bad the fishing was a bust after all the work you must have done making the hole.
Oh, and what was that cooking in the fire? Reminds me of my Boy Scout winter campouts.
I'm eleven years older than Galoot's malt, and they still say I'm only worth $.98 CDN.
I like your idea of downing the booze then selling blood to recoup the cost, though!

One of my kids has been watching Survivorman (link)on tv...
and now I have to go sleep in a snowbank, (weather forecast..link)and am responsible to bring him back alive.
