You do have your wheels on the pavement. That's enough for some of em' to have you locked up

Its a very tight street, and in parts, if no one parked with wheels on the kerb, the road would be blocked. We have sometimes not had the dustman go down the road for this reason.

One occassion, when I parked further down the road, I parked with the wheels touching the side of the pavement, instead of on the pavement, and got assaulted because a lorry couldn't get through!

If i got done for that, I would be even more annoyed than I am now!

Here's the really funny thing with the ticket, it details approx 40 different parking offences, and never once mentions the words 'double yellow lines'!!

I was discussing this with a PCSO and was told that parking on the pavement is not an offence unless and until you cause an obstruction and refuse to move when requested to. Just causing an obstruction is not enough on its own.

However, you are clearly over the area where there are clear double yellow lines and I presume that is why you were given a ticket. A couple of feet back and there should have been no problem.
Best regards, John

Just found out something really funny!

On my ticket, they decribed the car as being black. Incorrect information on the ticket means it's null and void!

The only reason it was parked like that in the 1st place is because there is just enough gap there to park 3 cars, so I always go very slightly forward to be nice to fellow drivers. Can't believe that I am going to make it more difficult for others to park now, because I think this is very petty!

I remember reading somewhere that there is an appeals procedure, which most people can't be bothered to use, and where the parking authorities can't be bothered to defend themselves, so most of the appeals are successful!
