Can I save this?

Hmm, I didn't concentrate enough on the composition here and in my defence the fern was waving in the wind. It's only sharp because it was f2.4 at 1/4,000th.

Can anyone see a crop that works?

I can see a face and mysterious creature in it, just like looking at inkblots!

Something like this Mike??
I took it through LR.2. Changed the angle with a slight tilted crop.
Desaturated the picture only leaving a hint of green.Darkened the corners with a small vignette to lead the eye directly to the fern. A bit like putting it in the spotlight. Finished it of with a split tone. Warm on the highlights and cool blue on the shadows. Just to give it a bit of a mystery feeling.

Well that's good I must say but I feel the actual composition of the original is all wrong. Your crop hasn't done as much harm as I thought it might but it still leaves the wool pretty much central.

I quite liked the greens and the contrast with the fairly clean wool.

Teach me to hurry.
