Techno used to be a great dealer with proper shops that sold Pentaxes! I bought my MX from them more years ago than I care to remember (Manchester). More recently they were internet only, and were bought out by someone else: I'm almost certain it was Jessops but stand to be corrected. Given that Jessops seems to have a track record of expanding too quickly then messing up big time, it probably was them....

Rumour was that Jessops bought Tekno just so they could close them down to reduce competition. I don't know if that is true, but I can believe it.
I got my Tamron 70-300mm for £60 from them. It's worth more second-hand now.

It was spelt "Tekno", if I remember rightly.
Thing about the Tamron 70-300 price: that's wasn't a special offer. They were selling it at £60 at a time when everyone else was selling them for £70 or £80 or more.
They often had the same sort of percentage difference on more expensive products as well. Photography has become more expensive since the demise of Tekno.

Hi all
Thanks for the replies so far.
It wan't Tekno that I was thinking of.
I remember that one or two members were waiting for deliveries at the time (July/Aug 200 and were panicking but eventually received their order or refund. I believe the company was UK based doing internet business (no shops).
I switched back to the Pentax and bought the K-7 last November and very pleased. Just seems that Pentax cameras and lenses are so much cheaper than Canon, Nikon, Sony yet of a high quality giving great images just like on my old *ist DL used to.

Can anyone remember?
There was an online photographic stores which disappeared or went bust in 2008 or 2009, can anyone remember their name? I think their name began with a 'T' but not 100$
I remember I was here when it was mentioned in a thread that they had gone. (hence this post)
Thanks in advance
