I'll make a note of that date in my diary, I've not been to a camera fair for 10 year or more.

Hmm, considering the total lack of sense when I buy a camera this could be an interesting excursion.

It'll have to be after July though, I'll be in France then...
Cheers, HG

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

Hi (John)thanks for the welcome message. Re the old thread was just rather annoyed at someone dissing camera fairs, as i love them. They are full of interesting people from young to old, iv noticed this year that there are alot of new faces coming to the fairs i attend and its not only an opportunity for people to sell there unwanted equipment but you can part exchange items and buy new and used in good condition. they are also becoming a bit of a social gathering. If you been to Boston spa fair then you should know me, im there everytime. NEXT FAIR AT BOSTON SPA nr LEEDS ON 8TH JULY 2012 AT THE VILLAGE HALL. We are going to photographica fair in London this weekend, its a very large fair and people come from all over world, its great to know that photography is a world wide interested theres just so many options to choose from camera and lenses wise, far too many, lol. Regards scarborough-girl
I missed the last one but will try to get to the next one. Are you a dealer there or just like to go hunting?

If you truely love cameras, you will surely enjoy camera fairs, with regards to nasty stall holders, I have yet to come across one, they are as extinct as the Dodo birds.

Its very simple, respect the other person and he will surely respect you, if you think its expensive, bad or ugly, just walk away and do not make any nasty comments, you d'ont have to buy it.

I throughly enjoy all camera fairs and permission has never been denied when the word 'Please' has been added for request to try.

Hey I just got back from Wolverhampton, it was good fun. The stallholders were great, despite no-one really paying much attention to the 'please ask before handling' signs on some stalls. I managed to restrict myself to buying a few filters and a little AF160 flash - I could so easily have come back laden with ME Supers + 50/1.7s (the bodeis were practically being given away with the lenses), and perhaps a Pentacon Six or Bronica ETRS

I've picked up a few nice things at fairs. I got my "Horizont" swing lens panoramic cameras at one, my LX motordrive kit including replacement ni-cads and my Zorkii 4.

I enjoy fairs very much, my bank balance doesn't!

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
