Hi to you all,

Looking at buying a Timer Cable Remote Control Shutter for Canon Pentax Samsung MC-C1 E35 for my Pentax K30, just wondering if anyone has tried the same remote, and does it work.

Cheers Barry

Welcome Barry, wonder why you want a timer? The camera will give 2 or 10 seconds, I use a Hama cable release on a K30 and K5.

Hi Cedricd, many thanks for your reply, just thinking of what possibility I may need in the future, if I'm to buy a cable release why not pay a little extra and get the timer option, for situations like taking an number of shots when you are not on hand to actually press the button. Other than that I'm now 72 with a little bit of hand shake, the beauty of age.

Cheers Barry

See this week's AP for a group of possible remotes.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Hi Barry, appreciate your honesty. You won`t be alone on here at 72 and as for shaking I give you 11 years and shake like crazy which is why I just bought a decent tripod.

Many thanks for the feedback so far.

I have included a link to the timer I'm looking at buying.

Many thanks to you all for your help. Now I will go and look for a forum to help me in camera settings for taking shots of the night sky, as some you will know we get some very clear skies in Australia.
