Bubbly Bokeh

Having sold my Pentax A 100mm f2.8 Macro last year I soon regretted it, particularly after browsing through some of the images I'd taken with it - so in typical fashion I found another and tried it with the Pentax F 1.7x AF converter on some morning dew...….

….not a typical macro shot, granted - but the OOF background highlights are handled beautifully with this gorgeous lens!

If you ever come across one of these lenses (it won't be cheap), I'd highly recommend it

Now thats savage, wont get much better than that.
It would also make a fantastic image if it was all like the top half

Macro or not it's a beautiful bubble photo.

I too own one of these lenses I'm delighted to say.

I was right too - You did soon regret the sale!!

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

Amazing shot, Lenny! These sparkly bubbles add extra effect on the photo! Lovely photo. I love it.

Thanks for the comments - it is a superb lens in many respects, the focus is the most beautifully damped of any lens I've used - positive, smooth and no slack. The build is lovely - actually feels quite light yet solid and the long focus throw is well marked on the distance scale. The images it produces are up there with the other high quality Pentax 100 Macros that followed it, but at maximum aperture it gives this lovely bubble effect on OOF highlights - the main reason I sought out another copy

Defragged - Yes you were right and it isn't an easy model to replace.

HarisF1 - Was this one of yours then? I didn't realise

I tried to snipe it at the end if it's the same one I'm talking about (eBay)

Sure, the bubbles are fun, but the whole image is such a lovely abstract!
