Much better. The eye goes straight to the three pointy bits. The flowers between the houses and rubble heap add something to this version, too.

Which is, of course, an ancient English tradition. When a stone building fell into disuse, it became a quarry for the next generation of buildings. Not so much of that going on now, but distressed bricks and tiles from old buildings seem to have a market value.

An evocative, eclectic set of photos, Bill. Yes, 14 and 15 are stunning, brilliantly composed - their very busy-ness offering a platform for meditative concentration - yet also an almost ironic take on picture postcards. The minimalist approach to 3, 5 and 7 is easier on my mind, and lets me roam more freely... The gull adds a touch of humour to 7, making it (at this moment) my favorite (plus, it makes me think of Gaston Lagaffe's pet gull - I don't know if Lagaffe comics have been translated to english though, so the name might not mean anything to you).

Thanks Serge... yes, spent quite a while framing 14 and 15 so glad that appears to have paid off... was trying to get at the higgledypiggledy built on top of each other-ness of the medieval part of Quimper...

Thanks also or thoughts re 3, 5 and 7... hadn’t come across Gaston Lagaffe’s pet gull before, but have now!

Probably been said already but really like 12 for its almost homage to the Egyptian pyramids and 14 for that compressed perspective
