Great detail, and composition in no.1, looks like a good day out.

Good variety of shots in that set Cliff. The colour and lighting and crop are very dramatic in #1. I don't think Britannia has been up to the North East yet.

That first shot is a beaut, you don't have to be a steam enthusiast to appreciate the lovely composition and light. The sheen to the paintwork on those wonderfully irregular and rivet-pocked panels is particularly attractive.

Shot 3 is good too, but the brighter upper part of the bridge distracts my eye - I'd crop it so there was just a black band along the top, or remove the bridge entirely. I do like the processing.

Looks like #1 wins thanks for your opinions and I`ll have a go at darkening that bridge, it does distract a little .

Another vote for (No1), as David said, lighting is very dramatic, it also gives a slightly sinister feel to the image, which suit’s the subject mater well.
Great shot,Cliff, well done.

Take care.

Good set, Cliff. It looks as if you had a good day. As with other people I go for no. 1 as my fave, but I also like the others.

The one in the gallery of the the women is very clever.

Cheers,

Howard
