Brief time out with the K1!

I did it. I could not resist Sadly, barely have any time to enjoy it right now but here are first few shots from earlier today all at ISO 3200 I believe, just to see how usable it is in comparison to the K3 II.

Last one is a 1:1 crop with the 55-300mm. The rest is the DFA kit lens. Not thrilled with the vignetting and distortion it produces :/

Did you apply alot of noise reduction in pp. It looks pretty good on my screen

Catfish...I like that haha. One of many local 'beach' cats Wasn't too kin on posing sadly. I did apply some noise reduction in post using the Topaz Denoise plugin, light RAW preset with little adjustments, so not too bad of a result. This was just past sunset time, on a rather murky day, so light wasn't brilliant. I did take a few shots with the K3II and at 1600, it produced nothing I'd keep so overall rather pleased.

I've used the K1 at 6400 ISO on some fast jet images in my PF and they clean up nicely with Nik Collection's Dfine2, I've even gone to 12,800 with decent results on the badger images taken at 22:00 hrs +

Good to hear that Chris. K3II was quite good at high iso in the daytime but on the terrible side the moment light was scarce

Excellent photographs, now I understand why you are selling all your other Pentax gear. You do great things with the K-1

Congratulations on getting the K-1 and showing us these excellent pics.

I treated myself a few weeks ago but have only been able to go out once for an hour. Going out tomorrow though - weather permitting. All the very best with your new toy.
