The world's attention will be on a load of footballers in South Africa.
This is a good time for governments, the world over, to bury bad news.
I reckon our government will have an awful lot of bad news to bury, over the next few months! I don't think it's coincidence that the Chancellor has arranged the budget to be slap bang in the middle of the World cup.
Lots of unpopular things will be announced. But... As long as England are winning, no one will notice, or mind very much. Except maybe a few resentful Scots and some disappointed Taffys. Yes. The powers that be, love these big events. It keeps the plebs diverted and allows our rulers to do their dirty deeds, with less chance of being noticed.
I'll be watching, of course. I like a bit of footy.
This one is sure to be the noisiest World cup, ever. Those Vuvuzela horns make a right bleedin' racket!.. Bound to get on the players thrupenny bits after a while!
